3 Days in Savannah, Ga

Georgia is one of the prettiest places I have visited. The architecture and landscaping around every corner was gorgeous! I'm going to do a small recap of what we did in Savannah, Georgia for 3 days!!

THE SQUARES

Savannah has 22 historic squares, each with their own featured statue, fountain, or landscaping. I didn't get a photo of each square because I honestly could not keep track! We took the Old Town Trolley ride for 2 days of our visit, each ride lasts about an hour and a half, but you can hop on and off whenever they make a stop. This was the best way to see around historic Savannah without having to walk it all and get lost!

THE ARCHITECTURE

Every building had intricate designs and beautiful landscaping. Here are just a few of the houses located in downtown historic district.

THE FOOD

We had some good food, and we had some flops. Among our favorites was Leopold's Ice cream, Boar's Head pub, and Crystal's.

At Leopold's, I ordered the brownie sundae with Savannah Socialite ice cream - it was amazing!! We went to Leopold's at about 6pm one night and it ended up being the perfect time. Every other time we would drive by, the line was out the door!

I wanted to just enjoy the experiences we had so I didn't get photos of everything we ate.

At Boar's head, I had the warm chicken salad on crossiant for lunch. It was a delicious and filling option while enjoying the riverfront area!

Crystal's was an unexpected choice for us. We ate there for lunch and enjoyed the food so much, we went there for dinner as well! If you visit, make sure to get their giant pretzel - it was huge!! Everything we tried was delicious - chicken tenders, spaghetti and meatballs, crab stew, shrimp salad sandwich, blue cheese burger with onion rings, & a reuban. This restaurant was located in downtown.

Our favorite meal was at the famous Mrs. Wilke's kitchen aka The Wilke's House. It is located on a residential street, transformed from an old boarding house. The lines will be long, however it will be worth the wait! They say it's the most popular restaurant in all of Savannah! How it works, is they only serve lunch from 11-2pm Monday - Friday. They have large tables that seat about 10 all throughout the restaurant. You sit down with a table of strangers and over 20 sides and main dished are spread out to pass around. The process goes fairly fast because there are lines waiting to eat as well. This was my family's favorite meal and a must-have meal while in Savannah!

WORMSLOE PLANTATION

This is the most picturesque place in Georgia, in my opinion! Wormsloe plantation is a state park. It was about a 20 minute drive from Savannah. We got really lucky when we arrived. The park ranger was about to close the gates, but decided to let us in and shut the gates behind us - so we got the entire beautiful road to ourselves for pictures! We got the tripod out and took some family photos at this gorgeous site! It's a must-see for sure!!

This post was short and sweet with the highlights of our days in Savannah. We did a lot of walking around and riding the trolley to enjoy the scenery.
