3 Days on Amelia Island

I'm so excited to bring you a 3 day guide to Amelia Island, Florida! It was a beautiful beach town that seemed to be an hidden gem in Florida. When most people think of Florida, they think of popular places such as Destin, Pensacola, or Panama City. However, did you know that Amelia Island is entire town that has so much to offer. I was most surprised by the LACK of crowds. When I visited Destin, it was crowded everywhere you went - whether it be the beach or a restaurant. On Amelia Island, everything seemed to be at a leisurely pace, you weren't struggling for parking, and the beaches allowed you to bring everything you wanted and set up anywhere. There were so many public beach accesses, so people were spread out.

First stop was the Amelia Island Visitors center. Then we headed to the dock to get on the Cumberland Island River Cruise of the backwaters of Amelia Island. You can click through the gallery below!

THE BEACHES

There were so many different beaches on Amelia Island it was hard to keep track! The first we visited was near the tallest sand dune in Florida.

The main beach we went to was called Main Beach across the road from the Salt Life restaurant - which was so good!! We went to Main Beach almost everyday and captured some gorgeous photos!

The next day we took a trip to Fort Clinch State park where you can explore the Civil War era fort. It was so cool to look around, and the views from the top of the fort were amazing!

After touring the fort, we walked down to the beach to look for seashells and shark teeth!

We took a day trip and visits TWO other beaches! The first one we went to was Tybee Island. It was a smaller coastal town that centered around fishing. We walked down the City Pier for the prettiest views of the waves and to see all of the fisherman along the pier. This town was where part of The Last Song was filmed - one of my favorite movies!

I didn't get any good photos at Hilton Head, South Carolina because my lens was fogged up from the insane humidity. We drove to Hilton Head because we have heard it's such a pretty town, and it was!! It had a more upscale feel to it, and the public beach was so nice!

FOOD

My favorite place on the island was Denucci's Ice Cream, I got the dole whip swirl of pineapple and mango and it was delicious! I recommend getting a cup instead of a cone to avoid it melting all over you like mine did!

The salt life grill was one of our favorite dinners. I ordered the turkey burger with fries and the burger was so juicy and well seasoned. We had a great experience there!! The views were a bonus too!

I didn't get a photo of the restaurant or food, but Slider's Grill and Seaside Grill were our other favorites. They had a huge selection of local seafood and the atmosphere's were so fun with live music.

My last album is showing some of the houses along the coast. The first few were my favorite!!

One day we decided to take a day trip to St. Augustine Florida. The architecture there was gorgeous and we loved walking around their downtown area. The drive was about an hour from Amelia Island.

Our time at Amelia Island was so relaxing and the town was so charming! I highly recommend taking a trip here and seeing all they have to offer!
